Chief Security Advisor for the U.S and Canada North East region, Microsoft
Hafid is Microsoft’s Chief Security Advisor for the U.S and Canada North East region. He works with Microsoft customers to secure their assets, reduce risk, and modernize their workplace. He most recently served as the Chief Information Security Officer at Duke Energy where he was responsible for policy and risk management, research and development, enterprise security architecture, identity management and directory services, threat and vulnerability management, perimeter, network, and endpoint security, network defense, Incident response, and penetration testing.
Hafid has more than 20 years of experience in the IT and cybersecurity industry. He began his career as a consultant and software engineer and served in a variety of technical and leadership positions, including manager of directory and security services, director of finance architecture and project management, and director of enterprise architecture.
Hafid holds a Bachelor of Science degree in computer science from the University of North Carolina at Charlotte, and an MBA from Wake Forest University.
